Configuring a picklist
After you add a picklist field to a data type or case type, you must populate it with choices for users to select. By default, picklists are empty.
To configure a picklist:

To access the data model tab for a data type:
- Click the Data icon in the Explorer panel to display the Data Explorer.
- Click the data type.
- Click the Data model tab.
To access the data model tab for a case type:
- Open a case type in Case Designer.
- Click the Data Model tab.
- Click the Gear icon in the row of a picklist field.

In the Display as list, select the name of a control.

In the text input field that is displayed, enter an option to display in the list of choices at run time.
For example, the options in a picklist of colors can include red, white, and blue.
- Click Add choice.

Repeat the previous two steps for each option to include in the picklist.

Click Submit.
At run time, users are prompted to choose one option from the picklist. Options in the list are displayed in the order in which they were added.
